How CBD Can Minimize Aging and Wrinkles
Aging, although a natural process, is one many people try to prolong or avoid. Dr. Gohara explains that “antioxidants act as a Pac Man [on the skin by] going around and gobbling up any free radicals” that might be sitting and causing damage to the skin or speeding up signs of age. At this point, you might be wondering whether or not CBD is classified as an antioxidant, and the answer is yes! In fact, the US government has been aware of CBD’s antioxidant properties for nearly two decades – a study was conducted and proved that CBD acted as an effective antioxidant in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases (think: Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, HIV, and dementia). This study has since sparked other studies to determine even further how CBD can act as an antioxidant, which has lead to the discovery of the topical properties of CBD.
Signs of Age to Look Out For
It’s never too late or too early to start on an anti-aging regimen when it comes to your skin, but if you’re experiencing signs of age you’re unhappy with, it’s time to start incorporating CBD beauty products such as CBD eye cream and CBD serums. All of these [phytocannabinoid] compounds are synergistic with each other, which is thought to promote higher efficacy in aiding common ailments.” So do you really need full spectrum? Not really, but “like any plant medicine, the closer to the whole plant, the more comprehensive the remedy. That said, CBD works best in conjunction with other plant materials — the closer to the whole plant the better. Nature works in mysterious ways, and the entourage effect is complex.”

We all know smoking cigarettes and vaping isn’t beneficial to the skin in any way, and in fact, smokers often experience signs of age well before non-smokers do. This is because smoke is another free radical that has the potential to break down collagen and elastin even if that smoke contains CBD. If you’re looking to prevent or reverse signs of age, taking a regular dose of CBD orally or using topical products with a high percentage of CBD are truly your best bets.
